Description of Works
This involved the complete renovation of the roof of the North wing.
First all asbestos based material including floor coverings and adhesive, gaskets, sanitary ware etc were removed by specialists’.
Again all copper parapets, gutters, valleys and flashings were replaced, CI rainwater goods refurbished with a considerable amount of work carried out to the existing roof members that showed signs of decay where segments of the members were removed, new segments spliced in and all areas treated for wet/dry rot.
125 aluminium windows were removed and replaced with new timber up and down sash windows to restore the original look of the building.
25 existing timber sash windows were restored and refitted and 10 no steel sash windows were restored.
2 no flat roofs were insulated and recovered.
