2003 and Kelbuild Ltd. were contracted to Restore the Roof of St. Mary’s Church in Athlone.
A small extension constructed in stone to match exactly the existing and internal Refurbishment completed the Project.
- Both sides of the high and low roofs were stripped, re-felted and roofed with Natural Blue Bangor Slate with and the lead work replaced. The ornamental ridge tiles were removed from site and cleaned down before being reinstated as original.
- The guttering and downpipes were removed, cleaned, sand blasted, primed, painted and re-fitted as their original arrangement.
- Internally, the heating system was replaced, the ceilings removed, insulated and reinstated. Redecoration completed the job.
