St. Patrick’s College Maynooth, Roof Refurbishment
Description of Works
Following a competitive tender process in 2017, Kelbuild Ltd were appointed as main Contractor and PSCS for the Restoration and Refurbishment of St Patricks House, St Patricks College, Maynooth.
This works consisted of the removal of the existing lead roof covering, the treatment/replacement of roof timber members and the relaying of a new lead roof (cir 35,000 kgs of lead). A specialist Lead Contractor was employed by Kelbuild Ltd to complete this work.
2 no high level stone chimneys were taken down to roof level, lead trays fitted and chimneys rebuilt using lime mortar.
4 no. roof light lanterns were stripped down and refurbished. The lanterns were then roofed with blue Bangor slates and the refurbished timber windows were fitted with heritage glazing.
